The Portland Police Bureau’s Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public’s help to locate a missing endangered man.

Khamphoun Vongkhamchanh was last seen on Monday, May 27, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m., walking westbound on Southeast Harney Street from Southeast 77th Avenue in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood. Khamphoun’s family says that he will typically walk around the block and then return home.

Khamphoun is 4’11 tall and weighs approximately 120 lbs. Khamphoun is 90 years old, and his native language is Lao. Khamphoun was last seen wearing a plaid white or grey flannel shirt, slacks (possibly blue), blue shoes and maybe wearing a beanie. Khamphoun has also been diagnosed with dementia.

Officers and Khamphoun’s family have extensively checked the area around his house and have not located him.

Khamphoun’s family and police are concerned for his welfare, given his age and dementia diagnosis. If you see Khamphoun, please call 911. Anyone with information that is not time sensitive is urged to contact detectives at missing@police.portlandoregon.gov and reference case number 24-130431.
