Man Dies Following Assault in Northwest District (Photo)

A man died following an assault in the Northwest District.

On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Central Precinct officers responded to reports of an assault in the 1900 block of Northwest Everett Street. Officers found an adult male, later identified as O’Marr Burnett, badly injured. The 51-year-old was transported to a local hospital for medical care.

On Friday, June 14, 2024, Burnett died from injuries sustained in the assault.

The Medical Examiner determined Burnett died of homicidal violence. Burnett’s family is asking for privacy at this time, but they did provide the attached photo for public release.

The Portland Police Bureau’s Homicide Unit is investigating. No arrests have been made.
