Pedestrian Killed in Crash on I-84 Ramp Identified

The pedestrian killed in this crash on August 8, 2024, has been identified as Jeremy J. Young, 48. His family has been notified of his death.

A fatal crash investigation involving a vehicle and a pedestrian has closed a major interstate freeway ramp.

On Thursday, August 8, 2024, 5:07 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to a crash on the ramp from Interstate-84 westbound to Interstate-205 southbound. When they arrived they found a man deceased, who is believed to be a pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The Portland Police Traffic Division Major Crash Team is responding to the crash to investigate. During the investigation, the ramp is closed to all traffic. Traffic can continue westbound on I-84 or go northbound on I-205.
