The victim from Saturday’s Lents Neighborhood shooting is identified as Niyjiel Troishon Brown, 19, from Texas. His family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photograph for public release.
The medical examiner determined that he died of homicide by gunshot wound. This remains an active investigation and detectives continue to seek additional information. A man has died after a shooting in the Lents Neighborhood.
On Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 12:57 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to a report of someone shot in the 7800 block of Southeast Aspen Summit Drive. When officers arrived, they found an adult male victim deceased in a common area outside of some apartments. There is no suspect information being released at this time.
The Portland Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is investigating the shooting. No public roadways are closed, but some areas of the apartment complex parking lot are inaccessible due to the investigation.
