Stabbing Investigation in Portland's Northwest District - Suspect Arrested

A suspect was arrested after a stabbing in Portland’s Northwest District.

On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to the 2300 block of Northwest Flanders Street on a report of a stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and immediately rendered aid to the victim. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Officers obtained a description of the suspect while additional officers searched the area. Officers located and arrested the suspect at Northwest Flander Street and Northwest Westover Road. Detectives assigned to the Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crimes Unit responded and are leading the investigation.

The suspect, Zachary Kelso, 35, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on two counts of Assault in the First Degree.
