UPDATE: Stabbing Investigation Underway in Lloyd District (Photo)

Portland Police Bureau Assault Detail detectives continue to investigate a stabbing that occurred Saturday on Northeast Lloyd Boulevard.

During the initial investigation an adult male was detained at the scene as a person of interest. Detectives interviewed the detained person and at this time he is not believed to be a suspect in the stabbing.

However, after being interviewed by detectives the man was lodged in the Multnomah County Jail because of an outstanding warrant. The man was identified as 55-yea-old Maxville A. Sinclair. Sinclair was booked into the jail on a warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine - Misdemeanor Treatment.

Detectives continue to gather information about this case and at this time do not have additional information to share.

On Saturday September 30, 2017, at 11:20 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of a stabbing that occurred near Northeast Lloyd Boulevard under the Interstate 5 Freeway.

Officers and emergency medical personnel arrived on scene and located an injured adult female being given first-aid by a community member.

Based on preliminary information, the injury appears to be a non-life-threatening stab wound. Emergency medical personnel transported the injured woman to an area hospital for treatment.

Officers have detained a subject at this point in the investigate.

Criminalists assigned to the Forensic Evidence Division have responded to assist with this investigation. Detectives with the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Assault Detail are also assisting with the investigation.

As officers, criminalists, and detectives continues to investigate this incident, they have closed Northeast Lloyd Boulevard between Northeast Oregon Street and Northeast 1st Avenue. There is no motor vehicle, bicycle, or pedestrian traffic allowed in this area of Northeast Lloyd Boulevard at this time.
