On Wednesday October 18, 2017, at 12:21 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of a gunshot victim at the Shell Gas Station located at 9920 Northeast Sandy Boulevard.
Officers and medical personnel arrived and contacted the 31-year-old male victim who was suffering from serious but not life-threatening injuries. Two community members had provided medical aid to the victim as police and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene. The victim was transported by ambulance to a Portland hospital for treatment.
Officers learned that the victim was seated in his parked vehicle at the Glasshouse Tavern, located at 9710 Northeast Sandy Boulevard, when a suspect fired multiple gunshots at the victim and the victim's vehicle. After the shooting, investigators believe the suspect entered a vehicle and drove away in an unknown direction from the Glasshouse Tavern.
After being shot the victim drove himself to the Shell Gas Station where he was provided medical aid and was contacted by police and emergency medical responders.
Officers located evidence of gunfire in the parking lot of the Glasshouse Tavern, as well as multiple bullet strikes in the victim's vehicle which he drove to the Shell Gas Station.
At this point there is no useful suspect information.
Based on information learned during the investigation the Gang Enforcement Team has taken over the investigation. Criminalists from the Portland Police Bureau's Forensic Evidence Division are also assisting with this investigation.
