March 15, 2004 00:00

The Portland Police Bureau child abuse team, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers, would like your help in finding a fugitive.

Peter Parvin Shankar is wanted on multiple counts of sex abuse in the first degree. There is a $500,000 bail warrant for his arrest, out of Multnomah County. Shankar disappeared at about the same time the warrant was issued, and his whereabouts are unknown.

Detectives say he has contacts out of state and could have headed to California or left the country headed for Canada. The possibility exists he may have fled to the Pacific island of Fiji.

Shankar is a 33-year-old male of East Indian descent. He is about 5’7’’, 160lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. He is prohibited from purchasing or possessing a firearm.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony crime, and you need not give your name. Call Crime Stoppers at (503) 823-HELP (4357).
