Unitus Credit Union
Advance Loan: A member can borrow from $50 to $500 (or 20% of gross monthly income, whichever is less). The CU accesses a credit report for verification purposes but does not use it for the approval process. There is no loan fee and the interest rate is 18.5%. The repayment schedule allows one month per $100 borrowed for up to three months, where typical payday loans must be repaid in the first month. To get a Unitus Advance Loan, they simply need to visit a branch and bring photo id and a recent pay stub or other evidence of income. Approval is instant and funds are immediately available to the member. Once approved, the member can make future requests by phone.
Oregon Community CU
CU on Payday Loan (a CUSO of Harborstone Credit Union in Washington):
- The member, or non-member, can apply online and get approved in minutes.
- Once approved, the disbursement is usually done on the same day with funds credited to the member’s checking account.
- On the due date specified by the member, funds will be withdrawn via ACH to pay the loan and the fee.
- The maximum initial advance is $300 and the subsequent maximum advance is $700.
The initial advance for a member requires some verification and account history.
There are minimal requirements for approval and no credit check is necessary.
The fees are typically much less than those with other payday lenders.
OnPoint Community CU
Payday Advantage Loan: Person can borrow up to 20% of their next paycheck, up to $600. Payment is due within five days of next payday, not to exceed one month. Requires automatic payment from a qualifying OnPoint account. Must qualify for and establish membership with OnPoint.
First Tech CU
Salary Advance Loan: The maximum loan limit is 20% of the member’s gross monthly salary up to $500. If the member has direct deposit and repays the loan using automatic payment, the APR is 15%. If the member does not have direct deposit and/or does not use an automatic payment to repay the loan, the APR is 18%. The entire loan amount, plus accrued interest, is due on the 20th of each month. If the loan is paid monthly and the credit limit is not reached, the member can advance the loan up to the credit limit during the six-month period. Once the draw period expires at the end of the six months, the member will need to reapply and re-qualify for further advances.
Rivermark Community CU

CU doesn’t require financial counseling, but they do provide all borrowers with information on the BALANCE financial counseling program and encourage that they contact them. CU is making 300-400 PayDay Advance loans every month.
