What to do in the case of an emergency alarm on our floor:
- EVACUATE – Immediately discontinue business activity including phone calls. Grab your keys, purse, wallet, and coat and evacuate the office by walking down the stairs. People with physical limitations that prevent them from using stairs should let Scott Karter know ASAP (long before the evacuation event). He will let you know what you need to do.
- REPORT – Immediately report to our assembly area (the covered area of the all-brick building directly across the street from our main entrance as you walk toward the river). When you arrive at the assembly area, you will need to report to the Bureau Safety Monitor holding the clipboarded list so they can check your name off. You should stay at the assembly area until the Safety Monitor with the clipboarded list gives you permission to leave the area.
- EARTHQUAKE – In the event of an earthquake, you should not evacuate. You should take cover under a desk and if the desk has legs, you should hold on to them.
Safety Monitors will be wearing orange vests and they will be working to ensure a safe, fast and orderly evacuation.
