Today, July 15th at 11:00 AM, the Miracles Club will celebrate the official grand opening of its new and expanded facility. The Miracles Club provides an umbrella of support for people recovering from alcohol and drug addiction.
Besides providing 12-step meetings and a social gathering space where families and individuals can gather without the influence of drugs and alcohol, the Club will now provide alcohol and drug free housing.
At the urging of Commissioner Dan Saltzman, the Portland City Council granted the Miracles Club the initial funds to purchase their new home, which spurned additional development funds from both the Portland Development Commission and the Oregon State Low Income Tax Credit program.
“The Miracles Club has been a vital resource in our community for nearly two decades,” stated Commissioner Dan Saltzman who spearheaded the City’s supportive efforts. “They are an essential part of ensuring that individuals and families stay clean and sober and are productive members of our community.”
“We are so pleased that this day is finally here. We will have a permanent home on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and will be able to continue to provide much needed services to community for a long time to come” commented Herman Bryant, Miracles Club Executive Director.
