North Portland Neighborhood Services



North Portland Neighborhood Services, affiliated with the City of Portland, Office of Neighborhood Involvement, provides technical, fiscal, and administrative assistance to 11 neighborhood associations and over 50 community building groups and projects in North and Northeast Portland.

Certified Gold

  • Added an 8.8 Kilowatt hour photovoltaic system and geothermal heating system to building.
  • Replaced hot water system with at-sink water heaters.
  • Capture all ground water run-off in two rain gardens situated in a nature-scaped side yard.
  • Reuse or recycle as much as possible.
  • Provide bike racks, bike pumps, and emergency bike locks for the public.
  • All directional materials include transit and bike access information.
  • Compost all food, grass, and garden materials.
  • All copiers and printers set to print double sided.
  • Use 100% post-consumer recycled content copy paper.
  • Organizes recycling of non-curbside plastic items and encourages employees to bring these items from home to recycle at work.
  • Recycles all computers, monitors and electronic gear.
  • Supports and houses the North Portland Tool Library in lower level of building.
  • Naturescaped courtyard is a venue for natural gardening classes, plant sales, and Tool Library DIY workshops.
