Resources for Women on Bikes

Three women on bikes

SmartTrips no longer offers the Women on Bikes program of women-specific rides and clinics.  Everyone is welcome at our Portland By Cycle rides and classes.

However, there are many rides, classes, and activities around Portland designed especially to provide a comfortable environment for women interested in biking.  Here are a few suggestions for where to start:

Women on Wheels- a Meetup group whose mission is to empower women to travel by bicycle and other alternative transportation. All inclusive rides, workshops, and social events on biking.

Women Bike - The Street Trust’s program to use biking to meet their personal health, fitness, and transportation needs.

Sorella Forte - The club supports women who want to race as well as recreational riders looking for people to ride with on a regular basis.

Cyclofemme PDX - An annual celebration for women riding bikes, and a Facebook page with lots of news all year round.

Mujeres en Movimiento - Creating community, and healthy active lifestyles for Latinas through bicycling.

Friends on Bikes - Fostering a community of women of color who ride bikes in Portland, OR.
