Portland By Cycle is like Bike Camp for adults!

New to cycling or just getting back on the bike?  Looking for an easy-paced social ride on low-stress bikeways throughout the city?  These rides are for you.  And you can learn new skills with our classes.

All rides and classes are free and open to the public.

Note: We will schedule additional classes around the city through the summer.

For rides, meet at the time noted for sign-in and introductions; rides last about 2 hours.  These are loop routes and return to the start point.

Helmets are required, bringing water is recommended.  Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

SW Multnomah-Vermont Ride ride

Multnomah Co. Library - Hillsdale, 1525 SW Sunset Blvd

We'll ride streets newly improved for biking to see parks and more. There will be hills!

 

Pretty Chill Cycling Southeast ride

Whether or not you attend PCC, join us on a relaxed ride showing SE bikeways present and future.

There will be climbing. Some of the route is on gravel roads – wider tires recommended.

We'll see where it's great to ride downtown today, and where there will be improvements soon.

Adults Learn to Ride

Saturday, April 27, 10am-Noon

Portland Community College Cascade, N Albina Ave between Killingsworth and Jessup Streets (quad east of Albina)             

Wish you could ride a bike but never learned how? Or maybe you need a refresher? This  class is for you! With our safe and easy teaching methods, students will learn how to balance, pedal, start, stop, and steer a bike in a two hour class. Bikes and helmets provided for participants to use.

Join us for a hands-on clinic covering basic bike maintenance, flat repair, and a few simple adjustments and cleaning techniques. Learn how to keep your bike running like a well-oiled machine! Great if you can bring your bike, as there’ll be an opportunity to work on it, but not absolutely necessary.
