Public Outreach

Working with community stakeholders, we hope to identify a plan that supports multi-modal travel, residential livability and the economic vitality of local commercial businesses along the corridor. There will be opportunities for members of the community to participate in development of the plan, including a neighborhood Ride, Roll and Stroll, two open houses, group interviews, mailings and a project webpage.

For a summary of the public outreach and engagement efforts completed during the planning process for the Division-Midway Neighborhood Street Plan, read the Community Outreach Report (August 2014).

To kick off the project, we are hosted a Neighborhood Ride, Roll and Stroll on Sunday, October 13, 2013.

To share info about the existing conditions, needs, opportunities and constraints and gather feedback on candidate connections, we hosted a public open house on March 13, 2014.

To share the recommended priority connections and proposed plan and gather feedback prior to finalizing the plan, we hosted or attended the following events.

  • On June 5, 2014 host an open house for the general public.  Learn more.
  • On May 27, jointly host a series of language-based sessions and a mini open house for members of our community whom their primary language is other than English. This event is in partnership with Office of Equity and Human Rights, Metropolitan Family Services and Schools Uniting Neighborhoods (SUN).
  • On June 17, visited the Portland Pedestrian Advisory Committee.
  • On June 24, visited the Mill Park Neighborhood Association.
  • On August 11, visited the Portland Commission on Disability - Accessibility and the Built Environment Subcommittee.
