In partnership with the The Street Trust Safe Routes to School offers Bicycle Safety Education at schools in Portland.
Bicycle Safety Education (BSE) is generally taught to 5th grade students during the school day. The curriculum includes 10 hours of in-class instruction and outdoor on-the-bike practice. The class ends with at least one graduation group ride through the neighborhood.
Volunteer opportunity! If you have two hours or more to dedicate to students to help them learn road awareness, bike handling skills and more, contact The Street Trust to volunteer for the graduation community ride at a school near you.
