PBOT and partners support the use of traffic classes to help people travel safely.
Classes in Portland that help people travel safely include:
Offered to eligible individuals cited for running a red light or violating a speed limit at a Portland location equipped with a red light camera or speed safety camera, or who are cited by the Portland Police Bureau's mobile photo enforcement unit.
The Oregon Friendly Driver program is a free 90-minute interactive class aimed at educating people on the best and safest ways to share the road when driving.

In addition to standard course offerings, education training has been available for new immigrants, refugees and English language learners over the age of 18.
On completion of course, there may be opportunities for lower auto insurance rates from participating carriers, and driver license behind-the-wheel testing through ODEC rather than the DMV. A limited number of vouchers for driver license test fees are available.
