The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is reviewing the Bicycle Parking Title 33 code requirements to ensure the provision of adequate, comfortable, accessible and secure bicycle parking for short and long stays throughout the City of Portland.
A Bicycle Parking Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC) met during 2016-2017 to advise the City on this work. Project staff presented the work of the SAC at the November 14, 2017 meeting of the Planning and Sustainability Commission. The final report can be found here:
Portland’s bicycle parking requirements are contained in the City’s zoning code, under Title 33, Chapter 33.266, Parking and Loading. The code language regulates the required number, location, and design of visitor (short-term) and resident/commuter (long-term) bicycle parking spaces for new and redeveloped buildings in the City of Portland.
