An in person event took place on November 29th (materials here), and an online version is available for those who were unable to attend. This survey shares background information on Southwest in Motion, discusses the facility types recommended by the plan, presents a draft project list for walking and biking projects, shares major project priorities for future study, and provides information about other upcoming transportation projects in Southwest Portland.

Your feedback on this project list and approach will inform the finalization of the Southwest in Motion Plan to bring to City Council in 2019.

These projects expand and connect existing and upcoming walking and biking facilities in Southwest. Projects are intended to rank highly on our prioritization criteria, support Bureau of Environmental Services system needs, and align well with potential funding sources. This project list represents roughly $25 million in investment

Tier 2 projects includes SW Corridor related station access projects, experimental treatments needing more study, and links that build upon other new connections. This project list represents roughly $15 million in investment

Project Overview

Fall: Project initiation, Existing Conditions, Plan Review; Winter 2018: Project List Refinement; Spring 2018: Project Prioritizatoin; Summer 2018: Final Prioritized Project List, Final Implementation PlanSouthwest In Motion is a short-term refinement, prioritization and implementation strategy for planned active transportation investments in Southwest Portland. The final plan will identify a realistic 5-year active transportation action plan that provides basic walking and bicycling connectivity as well as access to transit improvements, where they are needed most.

Stakeholder Working Group Meetings: 

The next working group meeting is tentatively schedule for February 2019.
