Southwest in Motion: Crossing Enhancement Projects

A number of these crossing projects have already begun! Summer 2020 is the latest date projects still in development or design will begin construction.

OR99W/SW Barbur Blvd area: Sidewalk Infill Project

This project includes four project areas, with the main improvement being sidewalk infill where sections of the sidewalk network are missing. Traffic calming treatments will also be applied

Fixing Our Streets Southwest Bike Lanes Project

New bike lanes on SW 45th between SW Pendleton and SW Nevada and on SW 35th between SW Ridge and SW Arnold.

SW 35th and Dickinson

This project will be doing minor sidewalk infill on the west side of SW 35th between SW Huber Street and Jackson Middle School.

SW Naito Parkway at SW Whitaker Street

The Naito at Whitaker project is a critical connection for residents, workers and stakeholders. The crossing is an important safety feature and acritical connection for OHSU staff and the general public.

SW 45th & California LID

Streets include: SW 45th Avenue from SW Vermont Street to SW Florida Street (new west sidewalk and southbound bike lane); SW 45th Avenue from SW Florida Street to SW California Street (new west sidewalk and southbound bike lane)...

Red Electric Trail Project

A pedestrian and bicycle bridge between SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and SW Capitol Highway.

Lair Hill Neighborhood Traffic Access Management Project

This project proposes testing a package of traffic control changes to streets south of the Ross Island Bridge and east of Naito Parkway to better manage access to the bridge and reduce impacts to local residential streets.

SW Capitol Hwy: Multnomah to Texas

This project will include a 3 inch grind and overlay paving of SW Capitol Highway starting at Multnomah Blvd and extending to Texas St, as well as upgraded ADA ramps for all curbs within the paving area.

SW Multnomah Blvd / Garden Home Road Intersection Safety Project

In partnership with Washington County, PBOT is improving the intersection of SW Multnomah Blvd, Garden Home Road and 69th Avenue.

SW Capitol Highway – Huber to Kerr Parkway Complete Streets Project

The project will make capital improvements to improve pedestrian crossings and access to transit, enhance existing bike facilities, reduce crashes, and reduce speeds.

Central City Multimodal Project

The Central City Multimodal Project will help make getting to and around the Central City safer, easier, and more convenient by foot, bike, and transit.

SW 47th Avenue Phase I LID

Local Improvement District project improving SW 47th Avenue from SW Luradel Street to 287 feet north.

SW Capitol Highway: Multnomah Village to West Portland

Approximately $3.3 million in Fixing Our Streets funds will leverage up to $7 million in other local funding to build the project, which will provide sidewalks and bike lanes along SW Capitol Highway between SW Garden Home Road and SW Taylors Ferry Road.

SW Naito Parkway (I-405 to Jefferson)

Fixing our Streets project working to re-stripe and reconstruct pavement on SW Naito Parkway from I-405 to Jefferson.

SW Main Street (1st to 3rd Ave.)

Fixing our Streets project working to re-stripe and reconstruct pavement on SW Main Street from 1st to 2nd.

SW Vermont Street

Fixing our Streets project working to repave all of SW Vermont St and between SW 30th Ave and the Portland city limit near SW 65th Ave.
