Safe Ride Home PDX

DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THIS PROGRAM IS ON HOLD UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Safe Ride Home is a partnership between the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT), taxis, transportation network companies (like Lyft and Uber), the Portland Police Bureau and bar owners to offer reduced-cost rides home on targeted holidays to prevent people from driving under the influence.

Nearly half of Portland traffic deaths involve impairment. Through its Vision Zero initiatives like Safe Ride Home, PBOT is helping to reduce impaired driving. In December, PBOT’s Safe Ride Home helped over 3,300 Portlanders party responsibly and get home safely during the holiday season. During the holiday campaign, there were no fatal crashes related to impairment in Portland.

If you have questions, please email saferidehome@portlandoregon.gov. Thank you for helping Portland meet our Vision Zero goal to eliminate traffic deaths and serious injuries.
