Join us June 24th at Sunday Parkways’ north loop next to McCoy Park.  Meet the Portland in the Streets team and our Artist-in-Residence!

We have invited Portland artist, Lauren Moran, to be the 2018 Portland in the Streets Artist-in-Residence.  Lauren will be supporting the Block Party Program to create a set of activities and low-fi projects that residents can do at their block party.  The intent is to create tools for engaging your neighborhood and for getting to know the people around you.

Lauren in interested in exploring ways artist's ideas can be utilized outside of museums and institutions to support people getting together and exchanging with their communities.

Lauren is receiving a Master in Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Contemporary Art Practices at Portland State University. Lauren Moran creates interdisciplinary projects that are often participatory, collaborative and co-authored. Taking the form of conversation, publication, education, printmaking or curation, the work aims to experiment with and question the systems we are all embedded in by organizing situations of connection, openness and non-hierarchical learning.
