1120 SW Fifth Ave, Suite 800, Portland, OR 97204
The bid for the project is currently open. PBOT will select a contractor soon.
In 2016, Portland voters passed Measure 26-173, Portland’s first local funding source dedicated to paving maintenance and projects to improve safety for travelling throughout the city. N. Denver Ave between N. Lombard St. and N. Watts St. needs paving maintenance and PBOT has dedicated funding to repave the street.
When PBOT repaves a roadway, we often leverage the opportunity to improve safety at the same time and review the lane configuration, bike facilities, and crossings. We initially proposed repaving N Denver Avenue this summer, including protected bike lanes, transit stops and crossing medians.
Our project team has determined that the project can be delivered with standard bike lanes and curb-tight parking while leaving open the potential to switch to parking-protected bike lanes as part of a future project. In the interest of moving forward with the needed paving maintenance in the summer of 2019, this is what we will do.
Construction Timeline: Summer 2019
