1120 SW Fifth Ave, Suite 800, Portland, OR 97204
EPASS will develop a concept design for every city street with four or more lanes east of 82nd Avenue, based on community input, safety analysis and traffic modeling.
PBOT has many projects in the works on the major streets of east Portland. These heavily-used “arterial” streets -like Division, 122nd, Glisan–see a disproportionate number of serious and fatal crashes, so PBOT is responding with 15 different safety projects.
But many people have asked us: What happens to traffic patterns when we change multiple streets in the same area? And are we sure we’re using the most appropriate and effective tools to reduce crashes while making sure people can get to their jobs, schools and other destinations on time, whether by walking, biking, taking transit, or driving?
EPASS seeks to answer these questions, and in doing so, provide the people of east Portland certainty as to how their major streets will look and function into the future. Streets already under design will be included for completeness.
Finally, EPASS will recommend several new, community-supported projects for potential inclusion in future funding efforts.
