The changes in 17.28.110 build upon the structure by codifying refinements consistently applied over the years and provide clear and objective language, per ORS 197.307, for “needed housing.” The revised text includes a consolidation of driveway widths, location and operational requirements, and conditions for shared driveways. New graphics accompany the text for additional clarity. The authority to safeguard driveway design and the exception process to vary from these standards remains the same.
These changes are to Portland City Code Title 17 Public Improvements. Current code can be viewed here. The proposed changes would replace the existing code section, along with repealing 17.28.100 Driveways Defined as the newly proposed section has an updated set of definitions.
