N. Lombard St.: Columbia Slough O-Xing
N. Lombard St./ N. Marine Dr. near intersection of N. Marine Dr. and N. Kelley Point Park Rd.
Project funding is comprised of Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and City of Portland funding sources.
The purpose of the project is to replace the deteriorated bridge deck that carries traffic on N. Lombard St. over the Columbia Slough.
The project involves the following primary activities: concrete bridge deck and end panel replacement, waterline relocation, stormwater facilities construction, and asphalt paving. Additionally, a structural steel sidewalk will be added to the south side of the bridge for bicyclist and pedestrian use that will connect to existing trails on each side of the bridge. During the majority of construction, N. Lombard St. will be closed to all vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians.
Capital Concrete Construction (Contractor) was awarded the Contract to perform the construction of the project and began working on the bridge in mid-April.
