Biking to Nature

With glorious spring weather forecast for the weekend, I’m finding myself yearning to get to the great outdoors.
One of the ironies of enjoying nature is that we usually drive to get there. Even for those who commute by transit or bike, we usually don’t think of doing so when going hiking.
The folks at Clever Cycles used MAX to shorten their biking distance to Stub Stewart Park (about 30 miles outside of Portland) for a fun biking and camping trip with their kids.
They posted a story at the bottom of their home page which includes directions to bike from MAX to the park.
A lot of Oregon State Parks have hiker-biker sites, which are usually lower cost and often separated from the other sites.
Both BikePortland and OregonLive have done nice stories about biking and camping.
