Thanksgiving is one of the busiest weekends of the year at PDX. If you're going to be flying out to visit family or friends, it's a great time to choose TriMet to get you to the airport. MAX drops you off right at the front door. Use TriMet's Trip Planner to plan your trip.
If you would like to bike in an essentially car-free downtown, Ted Buehler is leading an informal Appetite Enhancement Ride on Thanksgiving morning at 10:30 a.m.. Festivities commence in NE Portland and work their way through the Central Business District. Snacks and cocoa are provided, and the ride is free. See the above ride link for details.
I'll be celebrating Thanksgiving at Cannon Beach and Amtrak provides great service. It gets me to my mom's outstretched arms in 90 minutes from Union Station. Just like TriMet, they have a handy-dandy trip planner. For an extra $5, I can bring my bike on board!
