This summer... Expand your students' bicycling skills and comfort-level and help students keep active!
Check out the following opportunities:
Learn to ride a bicycle! For students with disabilities and for students without disabilities, there are two different programs to teach children to ride bikes in a fun and supportive atmosphere. The Portland Safe Routes to School program is pleased to offer full scholarships to the first 10 students from our 72 schools who sign-up.
At the Community Cycling Center Bike Camp, students ride bikes, learn how to be safe and confident road users, and have fun playing games at parks. Click the link above to learn more and register.
Portland Parks & Rec offers a variety of active summer programs for students. The full Summer 2010 schedule of activities is available starting April 8.
Part of Cycle Oregon's "Weekend Ride," this is a skills-building camp. "...It is important that your child is comfortable starting, stopping and riding in a straight line on his or her own, without training wheels."
