SmartTrips to Nature!

When we think about getting in "nature" we often think that means getting into a car, and after burning some choice crude, commencing our communion.

Let us suggest some fabulous ways to wash that bitter irony from your conscience and have a great time - both outdoors and getting there.

The tree-hugging folks at TriMet have provided a handy web page, Transit to Trails, that lists natural trips throughout the region.

Some are more urban, and others like Forest Park and Tyron State Park, are bona-fide fauna and critter experiences.

If you are looking for a longer jaunt, there are lots of great bike rides to nature. On our Getting Around Portland page, you can view a route map for biking to Gorge and biking to three different Oregon coast destinations - using MAX to remove some of the less pleasant congested riding.
