Motorcycle and scooter users need not fear getting a parking citation if they use one of the following systems to provide proof of payment:
- If a user pays with a credit or debit card, the technology allows PBOT to track and verify those purchases.
- If a user pays with cash, the user should write down (or text themselves) the receipt number and machine ID (see example). The receipt number acts as proof of payment and is traceable to your transaction.
- We recommend taking a cell phone picture of your parking receipt on the motorcycle or scooter as proof of payment if you fear it will get stolen or lost. The picture of the receipt on the vehicle can serve as proof of payment.
In the event that a customer receives a parking citation, proof of payment can be validated by contacting the Meter Help Line at 503-278-5410 within 3 business days of receiving the citation. Upon validation, the parking citation for non-payment of the meter will be cancelled.
