Maplewood School in SW Portland held their annual Earth Day celebration today.  Five "walking school buses" and one "bike train" made their way to school, some walking up to 30 minutes to arrive. 

The mounted police joined the event, helping to slow traffic and provide safe crossings on busy streets with few sidewalks and narrow shoulders.  

Congratulations, Maplewood, on your commitment to walk and roll, especially on hilly terrain with limited sidewalks!
