TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Street improvement closes lanes on NW Skyline Boulevard beginning February 11
(PORTLAND, Ore.) – The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that street improvements will require intermittent lane closures on Northwest Skyline Boulevard between Northwest Germantown Road and the City limits (Northwest McNamee Road) for two weeks beginning Monday, February 11, through Friday, February 22, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. The public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.
Traffic will be limited to one direction at a time in the construction zone with flaggers. Crews will start on NW Skyline Blvd. at NW Germantown Rd., close the northbound lane of Skyline and work up Skyline to NW McNamee Rd. Crews will then turn around, close the southbound lane of Skyline and work back down Skyline to NW Germantown Rd.
The lane closures are necessary to remove and replace both the base and the surface layers of isolated sections of the road to stabilize the foundation of the road and prevent potholes and other surface distress. This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.
