The City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability is hosting the last Fix-It Fair of the season and Active Transportation’s Safe Routes to School staff will be there with great resources for walking, bicycling, and more. The Fix-It Fair is a FREE City of Portland event where you can learn simple ways to save money and connect with resources. Join your neighbors and talk to the experts about how to spend less and stay healthy.
The Fix-It Fair takes place on Saturday, February 23rd from 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Ron Russell Middle School,3955 SE 112th Avenue in Portland.
Safe Routes to School is providing free minor tune-ups for families’ bikes and will also have a booth with a wide array of transportation resources. Whether you are interested in walking, bicycling, carpooling, gas-saving tips, or riding transit, the Safe Routes resource booth will have all of the information you are looking for.
In addition, Safe Routes to School staff will offer a hands-on workshop on all-weather cycling. This 45 minute session will help people interested in bicycling learn about the best ways to stay warm, dry, and safe while riding in Portland’s cooler months.
