The Portland Bureau of Transportation 2012 Bicycle Count report  found that 80% of bicyclists counted were wearing helmets. If you’re one of the 20% riding without a helmet, or want to give biking a try but cannot afford retail prices, Legacy Health Trauma Nurses Talk Tough is holding six discounted helmet sales with free helmet fittings this summer and autumn.

The next sale will be at the June 23rd Sunday Parkways at Woodlawn Park. Sunday Parkways runs from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Legacy has sold out of helmets at previous sales, so don’t wait until the end of the event to buy your helmet.

If you cannot make Sunday’s event, check the Legacy’s list of 2013 helmet sale events or visit the Legacy Safety Store from Monday – Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – noon at 501 N Graham Street. Helmet prices at the store may be more than the $6 price at the helmet sale events.
