(Aug. 14, 2013) – The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that street improvements will require a lane closure on NE Killingsworth Street between NE 14th and 16th avenues from Monday, August 19 through Friday, August 23. The closure will apply each day from 7 a.m. through 3 p.m.

The public is advised to expect delays onNE Killingsworth Streetwhile repairs are made. NE 15th Avenuewill also be closed when the intersection of NE 15th andKillingsworth Streetis paved. We ask the public to travel cautiously, observe the lane closure and directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.

Westbound traffic onNE Killingsworth Streetwill be detoured atNE 19th Avenueand directed toAinsworth Street, then west to Martin Luther King Jr.  Boulevard and back toNE   Killingsworth Street.  East bound traffic onNE Killingsworth Streetwill be allowed to flow through the work zone.

In addition,NE 15th Avenuewill be closed during the paving operation.  This will likely occur on Thursday, August 22 and Friday, August 23, but the exact dates may change.  Northbound traffic on 15th Avenue will be detoured west onto NE Alberta street, north onto MLK Boulevard, east on NE Ainsworth street, then back to NE 15th Avenue.  Southbound traffic will be detoured west onto NE Ainsworth Street, south onto MLK Boulevard, east onto NE Killingsworth Street, then back to NE 15th Avenue.

Local access to residences and businesses will be provided.  This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.
