(March 6, 2014)  – The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that street improvements will require a street closure on SE 20^th Avenue between SE Powell Boulevard and SE Pershing Street Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14^th, all hours, all days.

Traffic detours will be in place. Sidewalks will remain open for pedestrian access. This work is necessary to repair the asphalt that was damaged by a water main break that occurred during the February storm.  

Northbound traffic on SE 20^th Avenue will be detoured west onto SE Pershing Street, north onto SE 19^th Avenue to Powell Blvd.  Motorists wanting to travel southbound on SE 20^th from Powell Blvd. will need to use SE 21^st or 22^nd Avenues as alternatives.  

Parking will be temporarily removed from both sides of SE 20^th Avenue between Powell Blvd. and SE Pershing Street where construction is occurring.  Parking will be restored as soon as construction is completed.  This lane and parking closure will be in effect 24 hours each day.  The public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously, and observe all work zone signage. 

This work is weather-dependent and the schedule may change.
