(March 14, 2014) – The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that street maintenance will require a closure of the eastbound lanes of SW Capitol Highway, from SW Terwilliger Boulevard to SW Barbur Boulevard, on Saturday March 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Dry weather forecast for Saturday provides a last-minute opportunity for long-needed road maintenance in time for Sunday’s Shamrock Run. The work will provide a smoother surface on a ramp that carries traffic from eastbound Capitol Highway to northbound Barbur Boulevard.

Westbound traffic on Capitol Highway will not be affected by the closure. Eastbound travelers will find the road closed at Terwilliger, where they can turn north or south to use alternate routes to reach Barbur.

This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.

The public is advised to use alternate routes, expect delays, travel cautiously and observe all work zone signage.
