Traffic Advisory: Crane construction to narrow SW Jefferson Street to one lane this weekend between SW 18th and 20th avenues
(March 26, 2014) - The Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that SW Jefferson Street from SW 18th to SW 20th avenues will be reduced to one lane from noon on Friday, March 28 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 30. The closure will allow a private contractor to build a tower crane at a construction site at 2040 SW Jefferson Street.
Flaggers will be present for the duration of the lane closures. The signal at SW 20th Avenue and SW Jefferson Street will be turned off as part of this work.
Local access to businesses and residences will be maintained. MAX service will not be affected nor will the on-ramp to U.S. 26.
The public is advised to travel cautiously in the work zone and to observe detours. Travelers are advised to use alternate routes if possible.
