(March 28, 2014)  – The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that street improvements will require lane closures on SW Capitol   Highway from SW Texas Street to SW 26^th Avenue Wednesday, April 2, through Wednesday, April 9, 7 a.m. through 5 p.m. each weekday. 

One traffic lane will remain open at all times. Local access to residences and businesses will be provided.

The public is advised to expect delays while repairs are being made. We ask the public to travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.

The lane closures are necessary to allow crews to grind 1.08 lane miles in preparation for paving.  Paving will occur when there is a window of dry weather.

This work is weather-dependent and the schedule may change.

This work follows the previous week’s grinding and paving preparation on SW Vermont Street from SW Capitol Highway to SW 11^th Drive.
