Traffic Advisory: Paving to close lanes on N. Vancouver Avenue from May 12 to June 27; minor delays expected for vehicle and bicycle travel
(May 9, 2014) – The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that street improvements will require lane closures on North Vancouver Avenue between North Russell and North Cook streets from Monday, May 12 through Friday, June 27.
The lane closures will affect vehicle and bicycle travel and may be intermittent for all hours and all days. The public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.
The lane closures are necessary to grind down the existing pavement and repave the travel lane between North Russell and North Monroe streets. In addition, some portions of the travel lane will require full-depth reconstruction.
The traffic control plan will require the bicycle lane to become a shared automobile and bicycle lane at times. On-street parking will be prohibited within the work zone to facilitate the work.
Local access to residences and businesses will be provided.
The work schedule may change depending on weather.
