(September 26, 2014) - The Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that a series of crane lifts at the Marriott Hotel will close SW Clay Street between SW Naito Pkwy and SW First Ave this weekend. The closure takes effect from Saturday, September 27 at 6 am through Sunday, September 28 at 6 p.m.

A detour will be in effect during those times.  Westbound traffic from SW Harbor Drive and northbound  SW Naito Parkway will be directed to SW Jefferson St.  Westbound traffic from southbound SW Naito Parkway will be directed to SW Harrison St.

Pedestrians may use the south sidewalk on SW Clay St.  People on bicycles may use either SW Naito Parkway or Waterfront Park.

The closure is necessary to allow a crane to lift materials to the roof of the Marriott Hotel.

The public is advised to travel cautiously in the work zone and to observe detours. Travelers are advised to use alternate routes if possible.
