Active Events Throughout the Year
Sunday Parkways
A fun, community event for the whole family! Walk, ride or roll your way through neighborhood streets to discover parks and beautiful views. This series of free events opens up the city's largest public space - its streets - for active fun throughout the day! Happens once each month from May until September.
Kidical Mass PDX
Kidical Mass rides March through October all over the city, very slowly, and only a few miles at a time. Their goal is to get more kids and families excited about riding. They have a great Facebook page, which you can connect with here.
Pedalpalooza Family-Friendly Rides
Every June in Portland there are 3+ weeks dedicated to bike-related fun called Pedalpalooza. The organization, SHIFT, coordinates a calendar online where ride leaders can designate which rides are family friendly and encourage bringing kids. Past rides have included farm tours, Star Wars/Star Trek costume themes, and pinata scavenger hunts.
