Formed by City Council on March 15th, 2017. this LID is intended to improve the safety for pedestrians along NW Naito. This safety project will further extend the bike lanes to just south of Terminal 1, while also constructing eight (8) ADA-compliant curb ramps and partially rebuilding three (3) traffic signals at NW 9th Avenue, NW 15th Avenue and NW 17th Avenue.
NW Naito has substandard pedestrian facilities, with missing sidewalks, ADA ramps and, few safe places to cross the street. PBOT believes that fixing these deficiencies is important for people walking, rolling and accessing transit.
A Notice to Proceed for construction was issued on October 29, 2018. Actual start of construction is anticipated to occur in mid-November 2019.
