Lombard Pedestrian Enhancements

PBOT is working with Prosper Portland to design pedestrian enhancements along N Lombard Street in order to create a more comfortable environment for pedestrians. This project will be focused primarily around the intersection of N Lombard St. and N Greeley Ave. (West Node), with a small amount of work at the intersection of N Lombard St. and NE Albina Ave. (East Node)

Proposed improvements on N Lombard St. from N Drummond Ave. to N. Burrage Ave. include:

  • Bike racks
  • Sidewalk and driveway apron reconstruction
  • Street trees and furnishing zone improvements (the furnishing zone is the space between the sidewalk through zone and the street)

Proposed improvements at N Lombard St. and NE Albina Ave. and N Mississippi Ave. include:

  • ADA upgrades (ped push buttons) at existing Albina traffic signal
  • Curb ramp reconstruction (8 corners total, 4 each at Albina and MIssissippi)

The design phase of this project will kick-off in winter of 2019 with construction to occur in 2021 (tentative). The design will be based on the Lombard Investment Strategy.
