Sunnyside Plat
Probably - a classic case of this kind - real estate development supporting the streetcars - is the Sunnyside area. A private company built the Morrison Bridge as a private toll bridge. The people who built the bridge owned the streetcar company and owned this subdivision. They put the streetcar line here in order to sell property. The people who invested in the transit company depended upon land development for their profit before there were enough riders to support the system.
