1904 Olmstead Plan

Another response to the infilling of land within the city was a desire for parks. In 1903, the Olmsted Brothers (whose father designed Central Park in New York and the Boston park system) were hired to do a Portland park plan. This map shows their plan, that proposed using the reservoirs of Mt Tabor as a park and connecting parks with landscaped boulevards.
