SW 33rd Ave & Capitol Hwy SW Miles St & Capitol Hwy
What's happening now?
Construction will begin May 29th, 2019. See schedule below.
Granite Construction Company
The pavement condition on SW Capitol Highway has deteriorated to a point that sections of it require a complete rebuild and other sections require removing a minimum of 2.5 inches of pavement before repaving.
In addition to repaving the street, all existing curb ramps will be updated to be ADA compliant and new ones will be installed where needed.
PBOT is also partnering with the Bureau of Environmental Services to do sewer pipe spot repairs and other improvements within the project limits.
On SW 35th Avenue, just north of SW Capitol Highway, PBOT is partnering with ARM Property Management to do the sidewalk improvements.
Current Project Phase: Under construction. For your safety and the safety of workers, we ask the public to travel cautiously, observe all lane detours and directions by reader boards and flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve the street.
Total Project Budget: $1,700,000 from Fixing Our Streets. Other funding sources include the Bureau of Environmental Services and collaboration with nearby developers.
