What's changed for the Tillamook Neighborhood Greenway Enhancement Project since May

Following visits to the Irvington Community Association Board meeting, Irvington Community Association Land Use Committee meeting, Eliot Neighborhood Association Land Use and Transportation Committee, and Eliot Neighborhood Association Board meeting, we undertook a review of the project proposal. The changes made to the project proposal since May include:

  • A modified design at NE Tillamook and 21st to include 3 speed bumps instead of corner truck islands and less paint on the street.
  • Launch of a broader community conversation about whether to divert traffic away from Tillamook at a point between Williams and Martin Luther King to reduce eastbound vehicle traffic on Tillamook at PM peak.

Further review of the project proposal will take place following the August 1 Open House

Project Timeline

Summer 2018 - Community Refinement of Design

What considerations do you want us to make as we plan enhancements to the Tillamook Neighborhood Greenway? We'll be reaching out directly to stakeholders like Neighborhood Associations, and will present our project proposal online and at an open house in July to seek your ideas for project refinement.

Fall/Winter 2018 - Design Finalized

We will share the final design selected for construction on the project website and via email and let you know how your feedback was utilized.

Spring/Summer 2019 - Construction and Results Monitoring

We will construct the project and publish post-project data on the project website.

Construction in the Eliot neighborhood will not begin until the conclusion of the Bureau of Environmental Services' sewer and stormwater project, which is scheduled to conclude in Spring 2019.
