Thank you to everyone who attended a PedPDX event and provided feedback on the draft plan in person, through the online survey, or by email! Much of the feedback was supportive, proactive, and incredibly helpful. One thing is clear: Portlanders all over the city are ready to see the fruits of this work.
Changes made as the result of public comment on the Review Draft
Thank you to everyone who provided valuable feedback on the Public Review Draft! The plan now before City Council incorporates changes and additions to the Pedestrian Priority Network including many new Neighborhood Walkway Classifications citywide. Actions that relate to street trees were modified to be more friendly to the trees while still accomplishing the objectives, and two brand new actions were added to the Toolbox:
- Develop City design guidance for transit station platforms
- Explore traffic citation policy and structural changes to address inequitable impacts of fines and fees on people with lower incomes
